Karen Song. A descendant from a lineage of dressmakers, Karen Song is a true reflection of a designer in the 21st century. Growing up in Calgary, Alberta, Karen Song demonstrated at an early age her eye for fashion design. After graduating from the University of Calgary with a marketing degree, she often found her views were influenced by a designerÕs perspective. Following her true passion, she moved in 2002 to New York to pursue formal studies at Parsons School of Design. Karen SongÕs collections are known for their contemporary nature with a distinct feminine style. It is common of Song to use eclectic elements to create contrast within her garments; tradition and innovation, fluidity and rigidity, imbalance and sequence. Never shy of pushing the limits of conventional design and construction, the result is clothing that is fresh and uniquely poised with elegance and luxury.
